What is an Emergency Services District (ESD)?

An Emergency Services District (ESD) is a local government entity, (political subdivision), established to provide fire protection, rescue operations, and other critical public safety services. ESDs are created through voter approval and funded by property taxes and, in some cases, such as ours, sales taxes. They are designed to ensure communities have reliable and well-equipped emergency services, particularly in areas that may not be adequately served by city fire departments or volunteer fire organizations.
