PRESS RELEASE - FIRE STATION 154
Tue. Aug 22nd 2017

         -PRESS RELEASE-

Montgomery County Emergency Services District #7 is proud to announce the building of the new East Montgomery County Fire Station 154 located at 16625 FM 1485. The 4,900 square foot facility will feature two apparatus bays, quarters for up to four personnel, physical fitness room, and a large open concept kitchen/dining/day room. The addition of this station will substantially enhance fire protection and response times to the residents in the FM 1485 West and State Highway 242 area, as well as improving response capacity to Montgomery County Emergency Services District 7, and the surrounding region with the additional staffed Tanker/Pumper. The facility is being constructed by Grossman Design/Build, who estimates completion by May 2018. The Insurance Services Office will extend the current Public Protection Class rating of 2/4 to a five road mile distance from the new facility, bringing relief too many citizens along the FM 1485 West and State Highway 242 area who are experiencing elevated insurance premiums due to distance from the Fire Station at FM 1485 and Bowden Drive. The station will be staffed around the clock by three personnel, supplemented by volunteer firefighting members, and will house a 1800 gallon Tanker/Pumper, and a brush truck. We are excited about this new Fire Station and providing a better service to the residents of Montgomery County Emergency Services District #7.

Sincerely,

Howard Rinewalt, Fire Chief
